We believe in the power of movement and human connection. It’s one of the many reasons why we opened The Pilates Place. We are taking your health and safety very seriously, and our studio policies will protect our community. Before you decide join us in our space visit the Centers for Disease Control to confirm whether or not joining us in person is the right choice for you. Please read CDC Orange County Covid Tracker, and Orange County Covid Updates for current information of Covid-19 in Orange County, CA.

Hand Washing

Please wash or sanitize your hands both upon first entering the studio, as well as after cleaning your equipment at the end of the session. Follow the CDC hand-washing guidelines as shown in this short video. We also have hand sanitizer available at the front desk, next to the water cooler, near the bathroom, and at every reformer. This, along with avoiding touching your face with your hands, is one of the most important things you can do to minimize the spread of germs.

Scheduling

Please carefully check the schedule to ensure you arrive with plenty of time to wash your hands and prepare your space, and also in order to allow you enter/leave the studio without a mass congregation at the entrance. Scheduling will have to be done online, and is first come, first serve. No walk-ins. Thank you for understanding!

Click HERE for tutorials on how to schedule.

Classes that only have one client signed up will either be cancelled or run as a private session at our private session rate. Furthermore, classes that habitually have only one client attending will be taken off the schedule.

Cleaning Equipment

Our cleaning policies are based off of CDC Guidelines for Reopening.

You will get a NEW, fresh microfiber rag to clean your equipment with. Please arrive early enough to clean equipment (but wait outside to be called in. I know….)We are using the following steps to ensure proper cleaning technique:

  1. Liberally spray FORCE OF NATURE directly onto your fresh rag

  2. Gently scrub all surfaces of your machine or props, and use friction to loosen germs from surfaces so they can be removed easily

  3. Be sure to clean ALL the hard surfaces of the machines and or equipment you used

  4. After class, again clean and spray your machine and or other props with a mist of FORCE OF NATURE. Leave to air dry. Discard of your towel in the hamper.

  5. Wash or sanitize your hands when you are done cleaning

  6. Place “Ready to Clean” sign on your equipment if you weren’t able to attend to it right away.

Cleaning all of your equipment is a requisite for group classes. If you are continually unable to clean all used pieces of equipment after your session you will be asked to transition to private sessions.

Virtual Sessions

Thank you to all of you that have joined us online! If you are enjoying your virtual sessions we ask you to consider continuing them for a little while longer to free up space at the studio. Also, if you are in the category of High Risk for contracting COVID-19 as described by the CDC you may want to continue your Pilates session virtually.

Payments

In order to reduce cross contamination and free up capacity in the studio we will be limiting in-studio purchases. Purchase online through our MindBody booking system. Mindbody works best using your Chrome or Safari browser. Click HERE for our video tutorials on how to register and pay. Thank you!

Personal Protection

pilates orange county westminster

Starting March 1st, California relaxes its Mask Mandate.

Effective March 1, 2022 , the requirement that unvaccinated individuals mask in indoor public settings will move to a strong recommendation that all persons, regardless of vaccine status, continue indoor masking.

The Pilates Place asks that you be mindful of our variety of clientele and continue to follow our policy of only removing your mask when you are actively working out on a stationary piece of equipment.

As of right now, the CDC is recommending everyone in public wear one, and we believe that this is the correct and polite habit to reduce the spread of the virus via droplets in our small space.

The Pilates Place will not be suppling any PPE for clients. Additionally, you may purchase your own personal loops or Loop covers at pilates.com This is not a requirement.

Pre-session Screening

Please refer to https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html for a list of symptoms and a self check guide.

General Cleanliness

We will be cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces in the studio throughout the day, such as door knobs, faucet handles, counters, and cubbies.

Cancellation Policy

The health of our clients is of the utmost importance to us, so if you feel sick or believe that you may have been exposed to COVID, we kindly request that you do cancel your session and recommend you follow CDC guidelines on self-isolation before returning to the studio.

To remove any feelings of stress around canceling, we are waiving our late-cancellation fee DUE TO ILLNESS for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, our space is limited more that ever. We will charging you in full for non-illness 24 hr or less cancellations that are and no-shows. Please do not take advantage of the policy. If you are unable to make it to class simply notify us by texting your instructor or emailing us at thepilatesplaceoc@gmail.com

Classes with less then 2 clients signed up will be cancelled at the discretion of the instructor and owner, and you will be refunded. In the event that you are the only person in class your instructor will reach out to you, and may give you the option to have a private session, in which case you will be charged for that service

Etiquette

Our classes need to start on time. Please arrive promptly, only bringing in your essentials. Sessions are 55 minutes and we kindly ask that you clean up and bounce out of the studio. The team needs to complete their added duties and prepare for the next client to come in.

Maintain a 6 foot distance between yourself and anyone else in the studio, including the instructor. We are rearranging our equipment to fulfill this protocol. We also ask that you wait outside the studio until your instructor signals that previous clients have left and it’s ok to come in.

If you are unable to abide by our policies, or cannot remain considerate while everyone adjusts, consider staying home. Please be mindful of our discussions and the weight our words have. The Pilates Place is an inclusive environment and WILL NOT tolerate any discriminatory remarks or actions, hate speech, bullying, or intimidating behaviors directed towards other clients or instructors. You will be asked to leave the studio if you choose to go that route. As your instructors we are here for you and want to share each other’s stories and experiences, but let’s also be conscious the effect our conversations can have. Let’s share some positive with all the negative we collectively experience.

Questions

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. This is a lot of information to digest so we welcome any feedback you have or clarification you may need. We are proud of our Pilates community and we are grateful to share all aspects of it with you!
